I"m not a pawn and this isn't chess.
there's some things i need to confess.
I'm tired of playing this game being attached
whenI'm not sure our pieces are evenly matched

I'm not a doll this isn't dress up
I'm real and sometimes i mess up
I'm notmolded by what others choose
this is the real world where we can lose

I'm not a puppet that comes with strings
I"m a human who dreams about having wings
I won't let you be my puppeteer
It's my ship to sink so I'm going to steer

I wont be someone's circus clown
who plays the fool only to drown
I'll be the ringmaster holding the whip
I wont be held back by anyone's grip

I'm not tied up in chains
I'll be free to dance when it rains
no one can hold me down today
because i dont need wings to fly away.

so I'm not a pawn and this isn't chess
there's so many things i'd like to adress
I know sometimes I'm different and strange
But I'm the one who will choose if i want to change
